Good bye to Mrs. West and the first grade. We've been busy with all the end of year activities: fun run, dance festival , field day. It's fun to see him with all his friends, many that he is very excited to keep in touch with during the summer (he came home with a pile of phone numbers that he has collected). During the dance festival they got to wear purple elephant hats and dance to a song from the jungle book - he was practicing marching at home - taking it all very seriously, as he does everything his teacher says. I've learned to make sure I'm on the same side as Mrs. West, as she is always right :). He's so much more aware than i sometimes give him credit for - he amazes me with how much he remembers and can regurgitate. i feel the pressure of being responsible for such a special kid - he will do good things. At night i pray that i can be what he needs me to be. He's growing so fast. I'm so thankful for our Max.

At the park
We went to the Pl. Grove fireman's breakfast, and then hit the park afterwards - Casey was putting out fires in Missouri (the man lives on the phone) and the kids were more than happy to show off for the camera. Max can go all the way across the monkey bars now - it's wild when he manages something new with out me.. I'm still getting used to that, he always surprises me. Lucy is such a girly girl and made friends with another little girl i think based on the fact that she had a pink shirt on too. (makes me laugh). Sam is fine to play by himself, doesn't really ask for help even from me, but quietly entertains himself for as long as we'll let him. I think I'm constantly surprised by how individual each of their little personalities are. I'm so happy it's summer - looking forward to days at the park

Summer begins
Graduation from Lucy's first year in preschool. she has loved every day."is it school today?" is repeated over and over.
Heidi is amazing to me. i guess it starts with wanting to be (loving to be, really) with 14 kids twice a week that don't belong to you. And ends somewhere with her ability to make each of those kids feel like they are the best thing since sliced bread.
