Mascara Lashes

Addi had a tea party to celebrate her 3rd birthday this year. she invited Lucy and Jessie over and they got to dress up in their princess dresses and shoes.. but they came home with their hair up in curls, mascara, lipstick and eyeshadow and every nail painted. That night she called Casey and told him how beautiful she was - every girl loves to be pampered.

Summer begins

Graduation from Lucy's first year in preschool. she has loved every day."is it school today?" is repeated over and over.
Heidi is amazing to me. i guess it starts with wanting to be (loving to be, really) with 14 kids twice a week that don't belong to you. And ends somewhere with her ability to make each of those kids feel like they are the best thing since sliced bread.

Read to Me

I could hear her telling him stories while i was getting ready, so i came in with camera. but i was not ready for how sweetly they would be all curled up in blankets - with Sam following along in his book too. (she loves to make "beds" all over my house, often on the rug in the entry.. why?)

Strike a pose

we fight about how to do her hair, she only wants to do two pony tails every day. That is a problem becuase i've got it in my head that she is my own personal barbie doll - i love to dress her up and play with her hair. so today I told her i wanted to picture of how cute her hair was.. she is such a good poser!

Little deuce coupe

The Mederios' have two of these little battery powered cars - the kids love them, and today Lucy and Addi drove them for the first time. They are crazy! it's so funny to watch them, if the cars went any faster it would not be funny :), they can't remember that if you want to stop you should lift up on the pedal.

Mistee and I laughed to watch them, and i wondered if the scene might feel very similar in about 12 years from now.

A mom thing

You've heard the phrase "a face only a mother could love".. i get that, cuz man my kids are cute. i'm sure they all say that, but i love those blue eyes - so many similarities, but still very much their own little identities.. even this young. Sam has a crazy bunch of curls up there and some freckles already (I'm sure there are more to follow) and Lucy's hair has more of a wave with her dad's face shape. don't think anyone else would be so fascinated to sit and stare at them.. it's a mom thing.

ouch

i saw her starting to loose control on the big wheel -she pretty much caught it all in the face, and it made her lip bleed, everything is worse if she can see blood you know. but that look on her face... just about breaks my heart.

Happy Birthday Lucy

her dad calls her a snuggly little bug - and that's one of his favorite things about her - Lucy turned 4 this year. and so happy to have pink cupcakes coupled with Cinderella plates.. oh that we were all so easily pleased
